after graduating college and going on a 3 week western vacation

Denver October, 2002 |
Dear Jonny, What can I tell you about my parents? I asked Asher and he couldn't think
of a thing, so here goes:
I remember as a kid always asking my Mom and Dad how and when
they met and what transpired during their courtship. Apparently, it was at a Zionist
convention, probably the first in the USA, that was held summer of 1907. The
convention took place at the Fairmont Hotel.
The rest is history. Of the six sisters in the Jacobson family, it was quite natural
for my Dad who always had an eye for a good looking woman, to fall for the prettiest of
the lot. Well, to make a long story short, he wooed her in spite of the fact that
the "boss" in the household, Aunt Goldie, didn't like him - I think he would put
his feet up (probably with the shoes on as he did at home) and take his customary daily
nap on the sofa especially after a good
Shabos dinner, and Aunt Goldie thought him rude and uncouth. But Dad really had a
great relationship with Grandpa Simon Jacobson. Well, it took about 4 years for my Mom to
agree to marry Dad, and when I asked her why, she said he was too fresh! So there
you have it, and I hope this'll do for the pictures you have reproduced.
Love you,
Ruthie
